Project Engineer (Bettendorf, IA)

Project Engineers at O'Brien Construction work alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, and Estimators to support the successful execution of construction projects, from pre-construction through final completion and close-out. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer ready to take ownership of project details and contribute to work that is delivered on time, on budget, and built to a high standard. This role will support an upcoming ground-up project in Bettendorf, IA with additional work to follow across the state of Iowa.

This role supports project schedules, budgets, and plans while managing document control, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes. It involves coordinating with subcontractors on material deliveries, resolving issues as they arise, and assisting with cost estimating, correspondence, and task expediting. The position requires strict adherence to safety and quality standards, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a collaborative team mindset. Participants also join the Job Rotation Program, gaining hands-on experience throughout other important roles within the organization.

Experience, Qualifications and Abilities of the Project Engineer Position

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction-related software.
