Job description

Position Overview:

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Project Engineer with at least 6 months of experience in construction, design, architecture, engineering, or a related field. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating project activities to ensure that cost, schedule, document control, and quality standards are met. As a Project Engineer at J L Terrell, you'll be eager to learn about the construction industry and contribute positively to the success of our projects.

Responsibilities:

The Project Engineer will support the coordination, development, management, and execution of all aspects needed to complete projects on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. On a daily basis, you will assist the Project Manager with construction planning, schedule equipment deliveries, facilitate data analysis, generate reports, and act as a liaison between the project team and the community. Your goal will be to promote the interests of both the firm and the client in all matters. You'll work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Assistant Project Managers to provide technical support for financial reporting, job costing, change orders, and project billing. If you thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with competing priorities, this position is a great fit for you.

What We're Looking For:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 6 months of experience in construction, design, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with PlanGrid, Procore, and Sage 300 Timberline, with the expectation to become proficient within the first 6 months.
  • Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel and all MS Office programs.
  • Excellent and proactive communication skills (written, phone, and in-person).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, subcontractors, vendors, architects, designers, and the community.
