Familiarity with project management software (such as MS Project or Primavera), CAD tools, and budgeting systems is typically required. The Project Engineer Manager typically holds a leadership position, overseeing project teams and managing budgets, requiring additional certifications like PMP. The Project Engineer focuses on technical support and project execution. Both roles are vital in engineering projects, but the manager has broader responsibilities and authority.

How does a Project Engineer Manager typically balance technical oversight with team leadership responsibilities?

A Project Engineer Manager is often responsible for both guiding the technical aspects of projects and leading a multidisciplinary team. This balance involves setting clear technical goals, reviewing engineering solutions, and ensuring project milestones are met, while also facilitating communication, mentoring team members, and resolving conflicts. Effective managers schedule regular check-ins, delegate tasks according to team strengths, and foster a collaborative environment to keep projects on track. By combining technical expertise with strong people management skills, they ensure both project success and team development.

Job description

Mission

Bringing concrete projects to life that shape the future of the agricultural, industrial, recreational, and defense sectors is possible at Soucy! We are looking for an engineer to manage several large-scale projects, ensuring that the highest quality standards in our industries are met. In this role, you will lead projects as big as your ambition, allowing you to be recognized as a benchmark in terms of best practices!

In this position, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be responsible for a multitude of innovative accessory development projects in the field of motor sports
  • Have the best of both worlds for an engineer: you manage projects, but you keep the technical side. On the technical side, you are the brains behind the product design, although you don't do CAD. On the management side, you manage schedules and budgets, but you also manage and resolve technical issues!
  • Manage a wide variety of projects, both in terms of product types and manufacturing processes used
  • More specifically, you will be responsible for:
  • Taking an idea or customer requirement and transforming it into a manufactured product, being responsible for all stages of product development within the planned deadlines and costs
  • Coordinating the resources working on your projects (designers, prototypers)
  • Leading the team in analyzing and solving various problems
  • Providing technical support within the team
  • Following up on the project with the customer (conference calls, project follow-ups, meetings, etc.)

Are you the ideal person for this position? Don't wait! Come and join an exceptional team today.
