Situe a Varennes, UL Laboratoire Canada inc. est un laboratoire d'essais specialise dans l'evaluation des performances des composantes de l'enveloppe du batiment. Nous sommes presentement a la recherche d'un(e) Charge(e) de projets / Prototypes, materiaux et systemes pour se joindre a notre equipe.

A partir du bureau de Varennes et sous la supervision du chef d'equipe, le ou la titulaire du poste aura la responsabilite de la realisation d'essais de performance relies a l'enveloppe du batiment. Ces essais toucheront particulierement la performance de prototypes grandes echelles de l'enveloppe de batiments avant leurs constructions, mais aussi a la mise l'essai de differents materiaux et systemes.

Located in Varennes, UL Laboratory Canada Inc. is a testing laboratory specializing in the evaluation of the performance of building envelope components. We are currently looking for a Project Manager / Prototypes, Materials and Systems to join our team.

From the Varennes office and under the supervision of the team leader, the incumbent will be responsible for carrying out performance tests related to the building envelope. These tests will focus on the performance of large-scale prototypes of the building envelope prior to construction, as well as the testing of different materials and systems.

• Diplome collegial ou universitaire en genie (civil, construction ou mecanique) ;

• Habiletes a travailler en equipe ainsi que pour les travaux manuels ;

• Competence en matiere de collaboration avec les clients et en gestion de projets ;

• Experience en conception de structures d'acier un atout ;

• Connaissances informatiques (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) ;

• Maitrise des logiciels AutoCAD et dessin 3D (ex. SolidWorks)

• Maitrise du francais et de l'anglais a l'oral et a l'ecrit.

• Qualites personnelles recherchees : 

• Relations interpersonnelles, responsable, sens de l'organisation, dynamique.

• College or university degree in engineering (civil, construction or mechanical);

• Skills in teamwork as well as for manual work;

• Competence in client collaboration and project management;

• Experience in the design of steel structures an asset;

• Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams);

• Proficiency in AutoCAD software and 3D drafting (e.g. SolidWorks)

• Fluency in French and English, both oral and written.

Personal qualities sought: 

• Interpersonal relations, responsible, organizational skills, dynamic.

Remuneration globale :

Nous comprenons que la remuneration est un facteur important lorsque vous envisagez la prochaine etape de votre carriere. La fourchette salariale estimee pour ce poste se situe entre 85000 $ et 100000 $ CAD et repose sur plusieurs facteurs, notamment les connaissances et competences liees au poste, l'experience, la situation geographique, ainsi que d'autres elements pertinents. Ce poste donne droit a une prime annuelle, avec un objectif de versement equivalant a 5 % du salaire de base. Il offre egalement des avantages sociaux comprenant les soins de sante, y compris les soins dentaires et de la vue; des programmes de bien-etre, notamment en matiere de sante mentale et financiere; ainsi qu'un regime d'epargne-retraite conforme aux avantages standards offerts dans chaque lieu ou pays. Nous offrons aussi aux employes a temps plein des conges payes, incluant les vacances (15 jours), les jours feries legaux, 3 jours personnels, ainsi que des conges de maladie (80 heures).

Total Rewards: 

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career . The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 CAD and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits including dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), statutory holidays and 3 personal days and sick time off (80 hours).

• Realiser differents essais selon les besoins des clients et les parametres des projets (essais sur prototypes, essais thermiques, essais structuraux et en tunnel aerodynamique de divers materiaux et systemes selon les exigences des normes et procedures ASTM, AAMA, CSA et CAN/ULC) ;

• Participer a la conception et la fabrication de montages et structures d'essais (analyse, dessins, specifications techniques, calcul des quantites et construction) ;

• Effectuer diverses taches reliees a la gestion de projet (redaction de protocole d'essais et de rapport d'essais) ;

• Coordonner les differents projets avec les clients et autres professionnels ;

• Travailler etroitement avec le personnel po

  ur identifier les occasions d'amelioration des procedes et des equipements ;

• Toutes autres taches connexes au poste.

• Perform various tests according to customer needs and project parameters (prototype testing, thermal testing, structural and wind tunnel testing of various materials and systems according to the requirements of ASTM, AAMA, CSA and CAN/ULC standards and procedures);

• Participate in the design and manufacture of test assemblies and structures (analysis, drawings, technical specifications, quantity calculation and construction);

• Perform various tasks related to project management (drafting of test protocols and test reports);

• Coordinate the various projects with clients and other professionals;

• Work closely with staff to identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements;

• All other duties related to the position.
