What you'll do:

Come join the AmeriHome's team, a Western Alliance Bank company, as a Staff Engineer I of the Data Services team. We're building a cutting-edge platform designed to streamline and enhance business workflows in the mortgage lending space. As part of a dynamic and growing team, you'll help shape the software that drives our evolving business needs.
As an IT Staff Engineer I, you'll work in a mid-level role with proficiency in one or more key products and who is responsible for managing and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure or applications. You'll identify development and support needs as well as taking on design responsibilities supporting project tasks. As an IT Staff Engineer I, you'll facilitate dialogue and activities, while also ensuring team collaboration.
  • Design, develop, and maintain modern, responsive web applications using frameworks such as React, Angular, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
  • Build reusable UI components and enforce design system consistency and deliver end-to-end user experiences. Integrate front-end applications with REST APIs and backend services.
  • Take assignments that can be worked on individually without supervision and manage work effort from concept to completion.
  • Partner with product managers, architects, UX designers, and translate business requirements into intuitive user experiences.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote front-end engineering best practices, standards, and maintainability. Contribute to ongoing improvements in CI/CD, testing, and front-end development processes.

What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of related experience in software development or similar fields including designing and building applications with front end technologies like TypeScript, React, Angular and REST API integration.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, and AWS).
  • Advanced proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Additional experience with pipeline development and leveraging Azure DevOps while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Intermediate to advanced ability to see the big picture and align projects with organizational goals. Capable of leading and motivating cross-functional teams. Expertise in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges as well as skilled at identifying and mitigating risks at the project level. Proficient in governance patterns tied to intake, technical reviews and architectural compliance.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • May require up to 10% travel.
Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $121,870.00 - $150,546.66 for Irvine, CA. Salary range for new hires is generally $121,870.00 - $150,546.66 for Westlake Village, CA. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
