The Development Officer will lead and execute a comprehensive donor stewardship program-ensuring every donor feels valued, connected, and inspired by the impact of their giving. In addition, this role will manage a portfolio of individual and corporate donors and prospects, building meaningful relationships that deepen engagement and increase philanthropic support over time.This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives on building authentic relationships, communicating impact, and creating experiences that connect people to a mission that matters.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDonor Stewardship & ExperienceOwn and continuously improve RMHCCIN's donor stewardship program, setting annual strategy, evaluating effectiveness, and recommending enhancements to the CAODesign and implement meaningful, timely, and personalized donor touchpoints (thank-you communications, impact reports, video communications, milestone recognition)Engage volunteers, board members, and staff in the donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship processEnsure donors at all levels feel informed, appreciated, and connected to the missionPartner with marketing/communications to align messaging and storytellingOversee and enhance donor engagement opportunities such as tours and small stewardship gatheringsRelationship Management & FundraisingManage an assigned portfolio of individual and corporate donors and prospects at the mid-level and major gift range, maintaining consistent and meaningful contact with each Build and maintain authentic relationships through regular, personalized outreach (calls, emails, meetings) Conduct timely and thoughtful follow-up with current donors to deepen engagement and strengthen retentionProactively identify and attract new prospects; develop and execute moves management strategies to advance donors through the giving cycle from first gift to major gift considerationSolicit gifts in alignment with organizational priorities and donor interestSupport cultivation and stewardship strategies for corporate partners, including volunteer engagement and sponsorship alignmentCollaboration & Team SupportWork closely with the development team to align stewardship and fundraising strategies across campaigns and initiativesPartner with program staff to understand and communicate impactMaintain accurate, timely donor records and contact reports in Raiser's Edge NXT; contribute to portfolio reporting and pipeline updates for the CAO on a regular cadenceContribute to a collaborative, positive, and mission-focused team cultureQualifications3-5 years of experience in fundraising, sales, relationship management, or a related fieldDemonstrated ability to build and maintain meaningful relationshipsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey impact in a compelling and accessible wayHigh level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and professionalismStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of responsivenessHigh level of personal integrity and proven experience in maintaining discretion and confidentialityComfortable communicating with diverse individuals and groups (cultural and social)Passion for the mission of RMHCCINPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those an individual must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working on a personal computer and to move intermittently throughout the workdayStrong sensory skills, such as good eyesight, good hearing, ability to taste and smell, and dexterity requiredLift and carry up to 25 pounds without assistancePerform work on uneven and wet surfacesAbility to climb a ladder occasionally and maneuver two flights of stairs at a timeAbility to walk, stand, and bend for long periods of timeAbility to use your hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning, and pullingMust have a valid driver's license and good driving record to operate company vehiclesAbility to drive/sit in a vehicle to travel between work locations Ability to travel by car or plane with the possibility of overnight hotel stays (less than 10%)Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Capabilities)The requirements listed below are representative of the competencies required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Business Acumen; Management & Leadership; Communication; Reasoning & Problem Solving; Building Relationships with Kindness & Empathy; Project Management; Fiscal Responsibility; Strategic & Creative ThinkingWhat we OfferCompetitive SalaryBenefitsGenerous Time OffAncillary Benefits
