We are looking for a Project Development Manager to join our Mining & Metals team. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for advancing Allnorth’s brand, strengthening client relationships, and building a strong long-term opportunity pipeline within the Mining & Metals industry.
Working closely with the Operations and Growth teams, the Project Development Manager will support the development and execution of Allnorth’s Mining & Metals strategy and drive top line growth within the sector. This role will also work closely with project engineering and delivery teams and senior management to balance client development, successful project execution, and cultivate exceptional client satisfaction.

A Day in the Life

  • Lead proposal development, including actively writing proposals and develop fee estimates for mining projects.
  • Define practical scopes for brownfield work and build trusted client relationships by delivering work that holds up in the field. Lead projects from early study phases through to detailed engineering, focusing on Allnorth’s core strengths in greenfield development.
  • Assist in growing Allnorth’s mining team through the identification and the recruitment of talented project engineers, project managers, and technical specialists, while providing team and individual leadership, coaching, and mentorship.
  • Support project teams in delivering the high-quality work that meets client needs while protecting Allnorth’s commercial and contractual interests.
  • Maintain strong long-term client relationships and a healthy front log of mining opportunities.
  • Alongside the Operations and Growth Teams, identify and pursue new clients and opportunities across the mining sector, develop account strategies and opportunities to build client relationships, and identify opportunities and strategies for cross-selling across sectors/industries to grow revenue.
  • Maintain proactive client communication to foster a high touch relationship including weekly and monthly reporting, crisis management, and escalations.
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and trends.
  • Take the necessary steps to mitigate engagement delivery risks, including leading and participating in internal quality assurance reviews.
  • Responsible for reporting through weekly progress reports, utilizing Salesforce.com, and sales forecasting.
  • Support project development across multiple divisions – One Team.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • P.Eng preferred, with at least 15 years’ direct industry experience in a mining, minerals, or heavy industrial sectors. A degree or diploma in engineering, technology, or related field, combined with relevant mining project experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and deliver complex projects efficiently and successfully under a wide range of contractual and project delivery formats, including coordination of multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants.
  • A strong track record of crafting winning proposals for engineering, study, and project execution assignments within the mining sector.
  • Proven success in growing a portfolio of business, developing client relationships, and identifying strategic opportunities within an engineering consulting environment.
  • Strong commercial judgment and an ability to understand client drivers, business goals, project constraints, and risk. Able to assess options, develop strategies, and support outcomes that are practical, commercially sound, and supported by all parties.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships that support shared success for both clients and Allnorth, and to identify opportunities to deepen and expand those relationships.
  • Ability to align with and contribute to Allnorth’s broader vision while working as part of a unified leadership team focused on results.
  • Comfortable working across teams and disciplines, including outside formal reporting lines, to influence decisions, align stakeholders, and move work forward.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly, including occasional short-notice travel to client sites, offices, and industry events.
