Overview

Titan America LLC seeks an R&D Engineer & External Partnerships Coordinator to work at Titan's Pennsuco plant in Medley, FL. Will be responsible for overseeing the stage-gate and product stewardship processes for R&D projects, providing valuable technical input on various R&D initiatives, and leading Titan's involvement in the South Florida Climate Ready Tech Hub. Will lead the day-to-day operations of the Launch Lab in collaboration with the Marketing department and coordinate key projects with external R&D partners, including startups, and universities. Will perform the following duties:

Responsibilities
  • Lead R&D Processes: Oversee and guide the stage-gate and product stewardship processes for R&D projects, ensuring efficient and successful project execution.
  • Provide Technical Input: Offer technical expertise and support on various R&D initiatives, helping to drive innovation and maintain high standards in product development.
  • Lead South Florida Climate Ready Tech Hub Involvement: Lead Titan's engagement in the South Florida Climate Ready Tech Hub, representing the company and collaborating with various stakeholders on climate-related technologies.
  • Launch Lab Operations: Manage day-to-day operations of the Launch Lab, collaborating with the future Marketing department to align strategies and ensure effective execution of R&D projects.
  • External Partner Coordination: Coordinate R&D projects with external partners such as startups (Natrx, CarbonUpcycling, C2CA, One Print, etc.) and universities, ensuring smooth collaboration and maximizing the value of these partnerships.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Marketing, and external partners to align on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Project Management: Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the defined objectives, while identifying and mitigating risks as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent foreign degree.
  • 2 years of engineering experience in evaluating and testing materials for development of new cement types at a cement production plant. Experience must include the following:
    • 2 years providing technical input during structured material and process trials.
    • 2 years providing engineering support for product stewardship, quality control and risk management processes.
    • 2 years evaluating innovative materials and processes, ensuring they align with plant capabilities and operational requirements.
    • 2 years providing engineering support in a laboratory environment, including analytical support and oversight of quality and physical testing.
    • 2 years working with external partners on collaborative research and development projects.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with climate tech initiatives and the ability to engage in discussions on climate-ready technologies.
  • Travel up to 15% within the United States.
