Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an entry level to experienced Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
This Position is located onsite in Melbourne, FL.
This position is for the role of a Cost Account Manager to support the Ground Systems team. The selected candidate will be part of a diverse organization supporting the Ground Systems Team Program Office and Business Management functions. As the CAM this individual will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between the execution team, cost management, and scheduling; reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports; assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet program goals and objectives; help develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving. The CAM is expected to understand and implement Northrop Grumman Earned Value Management Processes.
The candidate will be required to improve their knowledge of industry practices and standards and demonstrate the skill and ability to perform professional tasks. This individual should possess leadership and team building capabilities and have strong interpersonal skills. Must possess solid organization abilities and be a motivated, flexible team player. Some travel may be required.
Key roles and responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):
  • Develop and maintain cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for projects or product lines.
  • Align cost plans with business objectives, market conditions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor actual expenditures against budgets; identify variances and root causes.
  • Prepare regular cost reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Identify potential cost-related risks (price volatility, supply chain disruptions, etc.).
  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineering, procurement, and finance teams to gather data and align cost objectives.
  • Communicate cost implications of design changes, schedule shifts, or scope adjustments.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of professional or military experience in Project Management OR Master's degree in a related field (no specific project-management experience required)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tool suite; the ability to create, manage, and manipulate the tools, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with Earned Value Management either acting as a Cost Account Manager or other supporting a business function (Cost management/planning, scheduling management/planning, etc.)
  • Active secret US Government clearance (last investigation completed within last 6 years) and the ability to attain and maintain or a top-secret US Government clearance and program access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Northrop Grumman CAM certification
  • Understanding of Agile Methodologies and experience supporting a team implementing Agile planning and execution strategies
  • 2+ years' experience - general business environment with preference in project management, program integration, and/or administrative support
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with all levels in the organization to include Senior Leaders
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and a skilled communicator
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office tool suite; the ability to create, manage, and manipulate the tools, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Proficient in using the Atlassian Suite of tools (Confluence and Jira) and Microsoft SharePoint
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles and experience utilizing them professionally
  • Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously and quickly adapting to rapid changes.
  • Experience working solo: self-prioritizing and tasking, consistent cadence.
  • An additional 4 + years of military experience in a Project Management capacity will be considered favorably.

Primary Level Salary Range: $65,500.00 - $98,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
