Job description

Our Direct Client has a new Project Scheduler job.The Project Scheduler supports end-to-end operational planning activities through the development, maintenance, and publication of accurate and timely Operational Plans of Work (OPOW). This role works closely with the Project Master Scheduler, Project Management, Factory & Sub-System Planning, Fleet Operations, Supply Chain, and other internal stakeholders to ensure schedules incorporate all planning inputs and adhere to schedule lock requirements. The Project Scheduler identifies scheduling risks, assesses impacts, and escalates issues as needed to maintain alignment with operational objectives. 

Responsibilities 

Leadership & Oversight

  • Support weekly Project Operational Update meetings and maintain updated 'locked' Operational Plans of Work. 
  • Coordinate across planning functions to ensure schedule accuracy and alignment. 

Project Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain detailed project-level Operational POWs aligned with MSS, Pier Schedules, and vessel-specific schedules. 
  • Ensure subsystem inputs are captured and accurately reflected in project schedules. 

Constraint & Risk Management

  • Identify potential scheduling deviations and communicate impacts to the Project Master Scheduler. 
  • Coordinate with Project Management and Supply Chain to address capacity constraints. 
  • Support development of corrective solutions for maintaining operational alignment. 

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work with Factory & Sub-System Planning to ensure all planning inputs are included within Operational POW timelines. 
  • Serve as a liaison between Fleet Operations, engineering teams, and planning groups to ensure synchronized updates.

Reporting

  • Provide project-level schedule reporting, including progress updates and variance analysis. 
  • Support internal and customer-facing reporting requirements. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marine Operations Management, Construction Planning, or related field. 
  • 5-10+ years of experience in project scheduling, planning, or coordination roles. 
  • Experience supporting cross-functional technical or operational teams. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project or other scheduling tools. 
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • Working knowledge of forecasting and analytical techniques. 
  • Ability to manage multiple schedules simultaneously. 
  • Knowledge of construction and/or manufacturing operations planning preferred.
  • Ability to identify scheduling impacts and propose mitigation strategies. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
