You may work alongside a project manager, who is in charge of the execution of the project overall; in this case, your job is primarily focused on clear communication and ensuring everyone on the team understands their roles and expectations. You try to foresee issues and communicate them to the project manager as part of your regular updates on the project’s progress.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a project coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Project Coordinator, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a background in project management, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or Trello, and sometimes certification like CAPM, is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills help you coordinate effectively with stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
