Job description

This position is responsible for directing and supervising the daily activities of Maintenance Department employees. Position is non-exempt.
REQUIRED HOURS: Shift hours will vary based on the needs of the department.
DUTIES:
  1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of Mechanic and Utility Technicians in Oneida, including issuing and completing work orders, distribute tools and parts, and monitor job progress/completion to standards and/or expectations.
  2. Validate asset diagnosis prior to creating and assigning associated work orders.
  3. Inspect work performed to ensure completion and quality standards are met.
  4. Communicate daily with maintenance personnel within and outside the Oneida division as required.
  5. Develop and assist the Maintenance Manager in daily/weekly scheduling and employee forecasting.
  6. Monitor employee schedules, including breaks.
  7. Maintain all necessary records to ensure compliance to applicable DOT and EPA regulations.
  8. Assist Part Room staff with parts distribution and enforce process compliance.
  9. Enforce work rules in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement and Centro Policies.
  10. Monitor and ensure building security including daily opening/closing of all Oneida facilities.
  11. Monitor and enforce hot-work policies to ensure:
  • All grinding work is completed within a minimum of one (1) hour prior to building closure.
  • All torch and welding are completed within a minimum of three (3) hours prior to building closure.
  1. Work collaboratively with other Centro managers as required to assist in the development of maintenance and safety policies for inclusion into appropriate manuals.
  2. Review and prepare monthly progress reports for the Maintenance Manager.
  3. Participate in disciplinary investigations and terminations.
  4. Participate in interviewing and selecting internal and external candidates for Centro of Oneida hourly maintenance positions.
  5. Work in coordination with the Syracuse Maintenance Division.
  6. Work in coordination with the Operations Department in the Oneida Division.
  7. Coordinate with 19A Instructors to assist with facilitating all licensing requirements for Oneida technicians.
  8. Coordinate and facilitate training of all employees to enable access to and usage of all required network systems.
  9. Acts as contact person with the Centro MIS Department to evaluate network connectivity including PCs and printers.
  10. Acts as project coordinator for special projects at the direction of senior management.
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Technical training is a plus with a minimum of 2 years related experience
  2. Must be able to obtain a Class B license within 6months of employment.
  3. Fundamentals of asset management
  4. Data collection techniques and tools
  5. Understanding of loss control practices including data analytics
  6. Fundamentals of scheduling, reporting, and operational KPIs
  7. Organizational processes, root cause analysis, department workflows, SOPs and One Best Way processes
  8. Knowledge of safety and compliance standards
  9. Knowledge of all shop related equipment, and employee duties and responsibilities
