Job description

Job Title: Project Coordinator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Project Coordinator to assist oversee and manage construction projects, ensuring successful completion and adherence to project goals. This role involves working closely with project executives, field managers, foremen, and key subcontractors to develop a clear understanding of project scope, scheduling, and labor expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive projects from the project executive and estimating team.
  • Meet with the project executive and Field Manager to review new projects in detail.
  • Coordinate with foremen and key subcontractors to develop a clear understanding of the scope, job scheduling, and labor expectations through kick-off meetings.
  • Schedule and coordinate shop drawings.
  • Review and understand the job bid sheet and the intent of the construction acquisition department.
  • Work with the project assistant to prepare and submit submittals, release, and track equipment orders.
  • Ensure that the project's projected gross profit is realized or exceeded.
  • Provide on-site 'hands-on' control of all projects.
  • Develop and track all RFIs, RCOs, and monitor job costs throughout the project.
  • Coordinate sub-contractors including insulators, rigging, balancing, piping, and controls.
  • Coordinate material and equipment deliveries.
  • Coordinate manpower requirements with the Field Manager.
  • Attend job meetings.
  • Build relationships with construction managers and general contractors' supervisors and project managers.
  • Provide a concise update of project status at weekly Friday morning company meetings.
  • Ensure a strong job closeout by confirming all subcontractors are complete, control package expectations are met, scheduling walk-throughs with the foreman and service tech to confirm start-up readiness, and coordinating balancing and start-up.

Essential Skills

  • Project coordination experience.
  • Proficiency in RFI, project coordination, and scheduling.
  • Familiarity with Procore and construction management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • References that speak to organizational skills, drive, and multitasking abilities.
  • 0-5 years of experience in or around commercial construction, or equivalent industry experience or schooling.
  • Desire to learn RFIs, RFOs, billings, job costing, and construction project management.
  • Strong communication skills.

Work Environment

This position involves a combination of in-office work, traveling to local job sites, and client meetings. The day starts in the office with internal meetings about project schedules, followed by site visits to manage projects alongside laborers and foremen.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chardon, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
