Job description

Title: Project Controls Specialist
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: Contract
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
This position will be responsible for effectively and proactively performing Project Control functions related to financial and cost forecasting analysis, risk and/or schedule and assists in the preparation of Project Controls activities to support the project or assignment. This position reports operationally to Project Controls Department Manager and indirectly to the Project Controls Manager. Overall responsibility for compliance of assigned projects with project controls and services standards - both from applicable contract documents and from project controls policies/guidelines
Job Description

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Finance, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Installation, Project Management) and within Project Controls to ensure all stakeholders are informed and engaged.
  • Implement project control systems including Work Breakdown Structure, coding structures, metrics, data collection, earned value analysis, productivity tracking, risk analysis, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules aligned with execution strategy; set up planning tools (time schedules, progress tracking, dashboards, rules of credit).
  • Increase team awareness of project milestones, durations, and critical paths; maintain and update project control systems per procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute reports on forecasts, trends, schedules, risks, budgets, cost curves, and variances (planned vs. actual) for single and multiple projects.
  • Support meetings and reviews by providing analysis, reports, and documentation for internal and client sessions; assist in project execution and control plan development.
  • Collaborate with Finance on invoicing, billing, and ERP setup for accurate project baselines (budget and schedule).
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as requested by Project Controls Manager or Project Manager to ensure successful project delivery.

You are meant for this job if:
  • Possess practical experience in the use of the automated cost or schedule management systems
  • Having project control roles on various projects
  • May need to travel for project assignments and in support of business related matters.
  • College and/or University degree in related field, OR applicable work experience
  • The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience in project controls or project management, preferably in EPC 3-5 years of Project Controls experience, cost, schedule, and/or risk.
