Job description

Job Title: Project Controls Specialist Location: Houston, TX Type: Contract Compensation: $124,400 – $150,138 annually Contractor Work Model: Onsite – onsite Project Controls Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Establish and support project controls governance on large, complex projects characterized by significant investment and impact.
  • Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and project control hierarchies, building and managing schedules in Primavera (P6) including resource loading and milestones.
  • Support monthly accruals in coordination with Project Accounting.
  • Maintain project cost and schedule baselines in collaboration with Project Managers and Controls staff.
  • Generate and review periodic project status reports with Earned Value Management metrics, forecasts, and schedule performance.
  • Identify risks, trends, and potential changes; implement approved baseline updates.
  • Create, maintain, and control access to project charge codes.
  • Mentor junior project controls staff and assist with their development and questions.
  • Integrate external schedules into the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Perform critical path and forensic schedule analysis to support project claims.
  • Develop and publish periodic milestone completion and status reports at various project levels.
  • Follow and maintain Project Controls Processes independently.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an 8-year background in project controls, planning, or scheduling.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Accounting, Business, or related field; advanced degree or AACE certification preferred.
  • Strong experience with Cost Controls, Primavera P6, EVMS (Prism G2 or similar), Oracle ERP, and SAP.
  • Experience with claims or forensic schedule analysis.
  • Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
  • Nuclear industry experience is a plus.
  • Eligible to work under DOE regulations (10 CFR Part 810).

Physical Demands

  • Ability to understand and communicate clearly via phone, personal interaction, and computers.
  • Capable of quickly learning new concepts and applying them in a fast-paced environment.
  • Frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, and use hands to operate office equipment and reach with arms and hands.
