- Supports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports
- Assists with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
- Supports the preparation of cost data for proposals or contracts
- Assists in the development of quantity takeoffs for a specific discipline or specialty
- Assists in developing specific project codes of accounts and recommends appropriate modifications and revisions
- Supports the project trend program
- Assists in the development and application of unit rates (cost and job hours) to quantity takeoffs
- Understands project financial reporting and cash flow forecasting
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, financial reporting systems, and cost analysis at a jobsite location
- Skilled in oral and written communication
- Proficiency in using PC operating systems, including several basic software applications
- Proficiency in using multiple discipline-specific software applications currently used by Bechtel (Ecosys, Hyperion, Digital Supply Chain, for example).
- Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel
- Experience on major lump sum projects with direct hire construction strategy is preferred
- Knowledge of LNG projects and jobsite experience is preferred
- Proactive self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present data and analysis to project team, PC, and other management groups as required
