Job description

We are currently hiring an Environmental Project Manager in our Environmental Division at our Buffalo, NY office.
The Environmental Division at LaBella provides a full range of environmental due diligence services from initial assessment to remediation. The Environmental Project Manager must have experience with Private and Municipal Clients, and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) programs including but not limited to the Brownfield Cleanup Program and Spills program and on environmental containment, permitting and compliance projects. Experience managing assignments under state-agency contracts (i.e., NYSDEC, New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), the Office of General Services (OGS)), and/or assignments with United State Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) oversight or funding is preferred.
Duties:
  • Managing scope, schedule, and budget for tasks including site investigations, tank closures, site remediation, well installation, well abandonment, and other field work.
  • Oversees staff working on projects to ensure work is done correctly and within budget.
  • Client and regulatory correspondence
  • Technical report preparation and review
  • Preparing cost estimates and proposals
  • Working effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholders
  • Coordinating work schedules with LaBella staff and subcontractors
  • Coordinates with corporate and project-level safety and quality management staff to ensure all projects are conducted in accordance with applicable safety and quality standards.
  • May require some limited travel for field visits

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related field
  • Professional Engineer or Geologist License preferred
  • MS Office suite experience
  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience
  • Proven Project Management skills
  • Experience with Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and the NYSDEC Brownfield Cleanup Program
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work as part of a fast-paced team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage workload on multiple projects and deliver projects on time.
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification and up to date annual refresher.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $120,000 per year
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
