Direct Counsel is seeking a Construction & Infrastructure Transactions Associate Attorney to join a highly respected national law firm.

Locations: Boulder, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Des Moines, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, New York, or Princeton

Overview:
This is an outstanding opportunity for a mid-level associate to join a nationally recognized Construction & Infrastructure Transactions practice advising on some of the most sophisticated energy, transportation, and industrial infrastructure projects in the country. The role offers substantial responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced practitioners on complex, high-value transactions.

Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have 3โ€“6 years of construction-related transactional experience, including drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements for large-scale infrastructure and development projects. Associates in this practice advise clients on critical risk allocation and operational issues affecting major domestic and international projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate sophisticated construction and infrastructure agreements
  • Advise clients on EPC agreements, design-build contracts, alternative delivery structures, and related project documentation
  • Handle supply agreements, engineering agreements, consulting agreements, and service contracts
  • Counsel clients on risk allocation, indemnification, insurance, bonding, and other commercial terms
  • Support project development and transaction execution for energy, transportation, and industrial infrastructure matters
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and institutional clients
  • Participate directly in client communications and strategic transaction planning

Qualifications:

  • 3โ€“6 years of construction transactional experience
  • Strong drafting and negotiation experience with complex project agreements required
  • Experience with infrastructure, energy, or industrial development projects preferred
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Strong academic credentials and attention to detail
