Job description

Project Coordinator - FabricationThe Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the successful planning, execution, and closeout of fabrication projects. This role acts as a liaison between project management, engineering, procurement, production, quality, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
This role is based out of Nisku, AB.What You Will Be Working On
  • Support Project Managers with the execution and administration of fabrication projects.

  • Coordinate and track project schedules, deliverables, and milestones.

  • Assist with project kickoff meetings, progress meetings, and client communications.

  • Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, and change orders.

  • Coordinate material procurement activities and monitor material status reports.

  • Work closely with engineering, detailing, and production teams to ensure fabrication packages are issued and maintained.

  • Monitor fabrication progress and prepare weekly and monthly project reports.

  • Track project costs, budgets, labor hours, and productivity metrics.

  • Support quality assurance and quality control requirements, including inspection and testing documentation.

  • Coordinate logistics, shipping, and delivery schedules with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Assist in identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with company safety programs, client requirements, and applicable industry standards.

  • Support project closeout activities, including turnover documentation and final reporting.

What We Are Looking For
  • Diploma or degree in Mech Engineering, Construction Engineering Tech, or related Trade experience.

  • 2-5 years of experience in fabrication, modular construction, structural steel, process piping, or industrial construction projects.

  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes, drawings, specifications, and project workflows.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Blue beam, Word, and Outlook.

  • Experience with ERP systems, Tekla PowerFab, SpoolFab, or similar fabrication management software is considered an asset.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
