Job description

Nova Data Testing is seeking hardworking, dependable individuals to join our team as NonDestructive Testing (NDT) Assistants supporting projects across the Southeastern and Northeastern United States. The Project Assistant works closely with NDT Technicians to support field inspections. Ideal candidates have experience in a trade or handson industrial environment and are eager to learn and grow in a specialized, indemand field; however, prior experience is not required. We welcome motivated individuals who are willing to learn and work hard. This position offers both onthejob and classroom training, providing a clear pathway to advance into a certified NDT Technician role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist NDT Technicians with the setup and calibration of NDT equipment
  • Travel to job sites as required to support project execution
  • Support the execution of NDT procedures using methods such as visual inspection, ultrasonic testing, and magnetic particle testing
  • Accurately record, document, and organize inspection results
  • Maintain testing equipment and ensure related records are up to date
  • Use power tools such as angle grinders and die grinders for surface preparation
  • Follow all established safety protocols to maintain a safe and compliant working environment
  • Perform additional jobrelated tasks as assigned by management

  • Ability to follow directions and procedures to maintain a safe working environment and produce quality results
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Flexibility with changing schedules
  • Willingness and able to travel 50-75% of the time
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods (shifts may be 12+ hours)
  • Good visual acuity, including near, distance, and color vision
  • Ability to wear a fullface respirator and other PPE for extended periods, including maintaining a cleanshaven face as required for proper respirator seal
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • Comfortable climbing and working from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding (sometimes 100+ ft)
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces
  • Ability to work in extreme heat and cold environments
  • Ability to work around industrial hazards
