The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. An individual in this role is expected to have a strong sense of ownership, ability to identify process improvement opportunities, and have an excellent knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include reconciling account balances, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures for multiple lines of businesses. A successful Accounting Manager will establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare, examine and analyze monthly financial statements and its accounting records as well as providing a summary of findings.
  • Produce accounting reports and present their results.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations to project future revenues and expenses.
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Manage accounting team in their day to day operations, including assignment of work, coaching, communicating job expectations, monitoring and appraising job contributions, and enforcing policies/procedures
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions as needed
  • Effectively handle and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Prepares monthly closing journal entries.
  • Prepares monthly general ledger account reconciliations to identify discrepancies.
  • Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • BS Degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • CPA Preferred

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent writing and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail a MUST.
  • Proven ability to direct and supervise
  • Advanced Excel Skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Positive personality, attitude and professionalism.
  • Awareness of business trends and familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Experience with General Ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Rarely - on average 5% of travel on a quarterly basis
