Job description

ProHEALTH is one of the largest private multi-specialty medical practices in the Northeast and has been serving the health needs of Long Island and the Greater New York Metropolitan area since 1997. Primary Responsibilities

  • Level 1
    • Manage in-house pending sample lists.
    • Retrieve, store, and dispose of samples properly according to regulations.
    • Centrifuge, aliquot and label specimens using best practice to ensure no identification errors.
    • Assist technicians and technologists with technical processes and testing procedures.
    • Follow correct procedures and SOPโ€™s to ensure compliance.
    • Replenish supplies as needed to maintain and effectively manage inventory.
    • Maintains accurate and complete documentation for all testing, QC, and other materials.
    • Assist colleagues with inventory control to ensure supplies are plentiful.
    • Cap samples upon completion of testing and store in the correct area of the lab for ease of future recall.
  • Level 2
    • All responsibilities listed for Level 1 plusโ€ฆ
    • Unload samples from all instruments across different platforms and store correctly.
  1. Assist leadership to maintain inventory (counts, receipt, storage, etc.) documentation.
  • Level 3
    • All responsibilities listed for Level 1 and 2 plusโ€ฆ
    • Manage send out pending sample lists to ensure proper follow-through.
    • Follow up with reference lab on pending tests and access results to then file to LIS.
    • Complete all refrigerator temperature charts as requested.
  • Lead
    • All responsibilities listed for Level 1, 2, and 3 plusโ€ฆ
    • Follow up with any outstanding accessions for in-house and send out labs.
    • Oversee Inventory (Assist on ordering, record keeping, organizing, storage etc.)
    • Assist technicians and technologists in loading samples on the analyzers and other technical process as needed.
    • Assist in writing SOPโ€™s and implement constructive solutions.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous laboratory experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Level 2& 3 & Lead: Must meet all base requirements plusโ€ฆ.
    • Previous laboratory experience required.
