Job description

Progress Printing Company is seeking to fill the vacancy of first shift Press Helper, sheetfed press area, responsible for daily tasks related to the preparation of running paper through a printing press, as well as the offloading of the printed material from the printing press. This may include material handling, and daily care of the work environment around the machine. Operates material handling equipment. This is the lead production position to ensure the smooth operation of the baler system, which compresses high volumes of paper scrap into recyclable material.
Abilities required for this position include reading and understanding daily schedule, quality control documentations, job tickets, stock tickets, that are on the intranet and job tracking system, clear communication and strong organizational skills. Proficient in basic computer use. Experience and ability for forklift and motorized pallet jack certification.
Required Qualifications are at least one year of prior pressroom and warehousing experience. Experience in a printing manufacturing environment. Candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for 8 - 12 hours, and have good vision (corrected or uncorrected) with the ability to distinguish colors. The person hired must be able to work overtime when needed.
