2:30 PM-11:00 PM

This position requires a deadline- and detail-oriented individual capable of handling the demands of job prioritization based on daily fluctuating schedule components. Must be able to effectively determine time and organizational task management while maintaining alert focus for extended periods of time.

Description

A national manufacturing and software company located in the Virginia Beach area is seeking dependable individuals eager to build a career in a fast paced and friendly team-oriented environment. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and time management skills are a must.

Duties

  • Responsible for the finalization of stocks prepared for use, including, but not limited to: identifying, retrieving/gathering, checking, repairing, humidifying, counting, storing, recording procedural sign-offs, allocating and reporting totals, meeting deadlines, engrossing, and utilizing graphic design or proprietary software programs when appropriate.
  • Use a variety of machinery to engross or produce documents or materials on various substrates.
  • Verify stock accuracy and quality consistency within the production run.
  • Investigate discrepancies that occur using the proper channels and work toward the quick resolution of process problems and quality control issues that fall outside the predefined standards.
  • Assist in maintenance of engrossing machinery/presses including but not limited to daily shift maintenance and/or periodic thorough cleanings.
  • Visually check for and repair quality inconsistencies while performing engrossing duties, then review jobs and provide them to subsequent departments.
  • Understand stock room organization, including, but not limited to: machines, methods, and reporting inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Candidate must understand general machine mechanics with demonstrable and strong mechanical aptitude and skills.
  • Digital printing press experience highly preferred.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, CorelDraw, or other vector or drawing/CAD based programs.
  • Knowledge of color theory and basic color management preferred.
  • Knowledge of paper characteristics and other printing substrates preferred.
  • Reliable transportation for timely work attendance required.
  • Physically able to push/pull/lift/carry supplies and various works in progress of at least 35-50 pounds.
  • Physically able to bend/kneel/walk/stand, in tandem with cart, stepstools or rolling ladders, to access supplies and various works in progress or other materials as needed in storage rooms or production areas.

General Expectations

  • Fine motor skills, including, but not limited to, the full, complete use of and muscle control required to make precise hand movements, relative to tasks requiring hand-eye coordination, muscle coordination and dexterity.
  • Ability or demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel) as needed for completion of daily tasks, internal communication, and/or reporting.
  • Ability to quickly learn and appropriately utilize internal applications and knowledge bases as needed for timely completion of daily tasks.
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally or written, in a professional and grammatically correct manner where needed or when required with clients, service providers, and/or fellow employees.
  • Ability to read, process and follow written directions and procedures.
  • Ability to begin, continue, or find work without needing to be told or encouraged to do so.
  • Ability to maintain focus and concentration for long periods of time on computer- (seated) or machine-related (standing) tasks.
  • Ability to maintain routine and predictability in dynamic and open-office environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, accomplish goals within set time-frames, and maintain required metrics as per job specifications.
  • Ability to work in concert with a team or independently, with or without direct supervision/guidance as needed.
  • Ability to self-manage and multi-task while making fact-based or historically-valid and justifiable decisions.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with mandatory weekday or weekend overtime as needed.
