Beehive Industries is dedicated to Powering American Defense by revolutionizing the design, development, and delivery of jet propulsion systems to support the warfighter. Through the integration of additive manufacturing, the company aims to meet the growing and urgent needs for unmanned aerial defense by dramatically improving a jet engine's speed to market, fuel efficiency, and cost.
Founded in 2020, the company is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado, with additional facilities in Knoxville, Tennessee, Loveland Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Ohio. Beehive is committed to grow and advance the defense industrial base while manufacturing exclusively in the USA. This role will be located at our Loveland, Ohio or Knoxville, Tennessee facility.
Role Overview
Manufacturing programs is at the intersection between ITO and OTR. The team represents the connection and interface between Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality and Customer facing organizations focused on NPI manufacturing readiness, cost and delivery. This person has demonstrated experience in exceeding customer expectations and deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget in the aerospace industry. This position entails digesting, planning, and executing program schedules while assisting in overcoming any obstacles that occur in the process. This role serves as the go between for operations and engineering functions, advocating for the product/project's progression, making priority calls and staying with the problems until resolved.
What You'll Do...
  • Coordinate all aspects of the Manufacturing Product Development Team activities, ensure all key stakeholders are involved in planning and are informed and accountable to their tasks to assure execution of the team's activities
  • Create and manage project schedules and coordinate with operations and other departments to ensure successful delivery of hardware
  • Communicate with engineering on a regular basis on project progress, setbacks, obstacles, and improvements during and prior to the manufacturing process
  • Anticipate risks and project changes and suggest or execute risk mitigation actions
  • Digest and flow customer requirements in the form of a manufacturing review and flow-down
  • Work with outside vendors to get quotes, issue purchase orders, and manage schedules
  • Establish machining supply chain strategy and work to optimize / onboard out-of-house vendors for projects
  • Track hardware moving through the process to ensure timely delivery to the next operation and eventually to the end customer
  • Coordinate with all departments to work through non-conformances, engineering change notices, and other unplanned events
  • Partner with finance and leadership while developing unit cost forecasting. Perform cost trades and execute cost-out projects
  • Manage and track project budget to ensure under-budget delivery
  • Meet critical deadlines while managing multiple conflicting priorities
  • Analyze and understand data quickly in order to make informed business decisions
  • Supports proactive process improvement at the project or organizational level

You have...
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Applied Sciences, Manufacturing, Supply chain, Industrial Engineering or close disciplines
  • 5+ years of relevant project management experience. Additive manufacturing experience is desired.
  • PMP certification desired but not required
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar project management software
  • Willingness to work extended hours during mission critical activities
  • Understanding of overall aerospace manufacturing process (Additive manufacturing, thermal processing, machining, coating, NDT, mechanical testing, etc.)
  • Experience managing aerospace or automotive projects
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
