Job description

TheAsia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) is an independent not-for-profit organization focused on Canada's relations with Asia. Our mission is to enable Canadians to understand, connect with, and succeed in Asia through research, education, convening, and initiatives that strengthen Canada-Asia engagement.


APF Canada is seeking a seasonedpermanent, full-time Program Manager, APEC Networks. Reporting to the Vice-President, Research, the Program Manager will lead APF Canada's engagement with key stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and Distinguished Fellows networks, including supporting Canadian members of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC).


The role involves managing relationships with government officials, senior executives, business leaders, and other stakeholders; leading APEC-related initiatives; supervising the APEC Networks Officer and relevant contractors; and supporting Canada's engagement in regional and multilateral forums.

Key responsibilities include preparing policy reports, briefings, and recommendations for senior officials and ABAC CEOs; managing international meetings, consultations, and events; leading the work of Canada's APEC Study Centres; monitoring developments relevant to APEC, ABAC, PECC, and the Asia Pacific region; and contributing to APF Canada's broader research and strategic initiatives.


This position requiresextensive domestic and international travel throughout the year, including travel to support meetings, events, and other program activities.

Candidates should have a master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as economics, public administration, business administration, political science, or international political economy, and at least five years of relevant professional experience. The ideal candidate will have experience managing stakeholder networks and large-scale projects, working with or in multilateral organizations, supporting senior public- and private-sector officials, and preparing high-level briefings and policy materials.


Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, diplomacy, leadership, and project management skills are essential. Experience in event management, working with Canadian government agencies, or working in Asia would be considered an asset.

Eligibility and Work Arrangement

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada at the time of application. The successful candidate will be based in Vancouver on a hybrid work arrangement. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday during standard office hours; however, frequent domestic and international travel may require flexibility to work outside regular office hours and on weekends.


Compensation

The annual base salary range is $75,000 to $85,000. Depending on relevant experience and expertise, the target pay for this role is no more than the midpoint of the range.
