Raytheon is seeking an experienced Material Program Manager (MPM) to support development programs within the Advanced Technologies Strategic Business Unit (SBU). This role is responsible for managing supply chain tasks in support of new business captures and executing material strategies post-contract award.
As an MPM, you will act as the primary liaison between the Program, Engineering leads, and the Raytheon Supplier base, working to ensure material requirements are met for your assigned programs. These are typically early life-cycle development programs where requirements are still being finalized and material strategies remain flexible. This role requires strong program management skills, financial acumen, and the ability to manage supplier relationships and EACs under contractual Earned Value Management (EVM).
To succeed, you must be a self-starter, capable of achieving organizational and program objectives while interfacing with all levels of internal management and supplier leadership.
What You Will Do
  • Oversee the performance of domestic suppliers, ensuring quality, affordability, and timely delivery of hardware and/or services.
  • Develop and execute material strategies that align with program needs and requirements.
  • Drive robust material cost, quality, and schedule negotiations across the supplier base.
  • Collaborate and influence cross-functional teams, guiding Engineering to support timely material procurement.
  • Provide accurate forecasting of material costs and manage related financial metrics.
  • Monitor and proactively address performance and financial metrics, including cost, schedule, quality, and EVMS.
  • Own the supplier management process, including supplier performance, SCM metrics, Make/Buy/Where strategies, strategic agreements, and compliance with customer flow-through requirements (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR, public law).
  • This role will be onsite one of our Tucson, AZ locations.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a supply chain-relevant role such as procurement, MRP, cost estimating, or finance.
  • Experience with supplier management and/or subcontract management.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (special program access or equivalent manufacturing programs).
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain prior to start date.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with material sales forecasting.
  • Experience with multiple DoD/DoW contract types (e.g., Cost Type, Firm Fixed Price).
  • Experience with government acquisition regulations and laws, including FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and TINA.
  • Experience working with missile system elements such as Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), Printed Wiring Boards, electrical components, harnessing, or energetics like rocket motors and warheads.
  • Experience managing complex supplier relationships in a matrixed organization.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
