As the
Activity & Memory Programs Director (AMPD), you will lead resident engagement, life enrichment, and Memory Care programming throughout the community. This highly visible leadership role is ideal for an experienced Activities Director, Life Enrichment Director, Recreation Director, Therapeutic Recreation professional, Memory Care Programs Manager, Social Worker, or resident programming leader who is passionate about creating exceptional experiences for seniors.
You will oversee assisted living activities, Memory Care programming, dementia engagement initiatives, volunteer programs, transportation services, and resident-centered events while leading a team dedicated to enhancing quality of life for residents. Supported by experienced Regional and Corporate partners, you will help ensure Belmont Village's award-winning standards for resident engagement, hospitality, cognitive wellness, and person-centered programming are consistently delivered.
YOUR TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead all resident engagement, life enrichment, activity programming, and Memory Care programs for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents
- Design, implement, and evaluate person-centered programs that promote physical wellness, cognitive stimulation, social engagement, lifelong learning, creativity, and purpose
- Ensure the successful operation and quality of Belmont Village's signature mild-cognitive impairment dementia program and structured Memory Care programming
- Develop and maintain resident-centered programming based on resident interests, life stories, abilities, preferences, and individualized needs
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop Enrichment Leaders, Activity Assistants, Drivers, Volunteers, and other assigned team members
- Partner with community leadership to ensure appropriate staffing, employee engagement, and exceptional resident experiences
- Serve as a resource for residents, families, and team members regarding dementia care, resident engagement, and quality-of-life programming
- Coordinate dementia education, orientation, and ongoing staff training programs in accordance with Belmont Village standards and state regulations
- Plan and oversee special events, holiday celebrations, intergenerational programs, volunteer initiatives, family engagement opportunities, and community partnerships
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and families while fostering a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive community culture
- Monitor program participation, resident satisfaction, and quality indicators to drive continuous improvement and innovation
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, company standards, safety practices, and activity programming requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Human Services, Occupational Therapy, or a related field
- Two or more years of experience leading activities, life enrichment, recreation therapy, resident engagement, dementia programming, Memory Care programs, or senior living activities
- Two or more years of supervisory, management, or team leadership experience
- Experience working with older adults, individuals living with Alzheimer's disease or dementia, or individuals with disabilities
- Demonstrated success creating engaging programs that support resident wellbeing, cognitive wellness, social connection, and quality of life
- Demonstrated successful use of technology in the workplace
- Strong leadership, communication, presentation, coaching, customer service, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational, event planning, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Experience selecting, training, and developing employees, volunteers, or program staff
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, residents, families, healthcare professionals, and community partners
- Ability to work flexible schedules in 24 hour operation including weekends as needed
- Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
