Job description

Position Overview

Redhead Supports is hiring enthusiastic, dedicated Day Program Support Staff to work alongside children and adults with disabilities and/or mental health needs in our day program setting. We support individuals with challenging behaviors and we are looking to TRAIN you to be:

  • able to stay calm and avoid power struggles
  • willing and physically able to assist clients use the restroom and stay safe
  • show empathy when a client is overwhelmed
  • cheer them on as they take steps forward!
  • be thick skinned
  • and above all have fun and be active in the community
  • proficient in redirecting, de-escalating situations and handle problem behaviors.

Schedule

Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals in daily program activities including life skills, recreational programming, and community outings
  • Implement individualized support plans and behavioral support plans as written
  • Assist with personal care needs as required, including hygiene, meals, and mobility
  • Administer medications and document accurately per agency policy
  • Monitor and document behavior, participation, and progress
  • Facilitate engaging, meaningful activities that promote independence and community inclusion
  • Transport individuals to and from community activities as needed
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and structured program environment
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and families to ensure consistent support
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and on time

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or mental health needs preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with physical transfers as needed
