Position Summary

The Internal Sales Engineer plays a critical role in supporting Centroโ€™s customers and external Sales Engineers by managing customer communications, coordinating internal activities, and supporting the proposal and contract review process. This position is highly visible to customers and is instrumental in building positive, long-term relationships while ensuring customer needs are accurately communicated and fulfilled.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support to external Sales Engineers and their customer portfolios
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers as needed, ensuring professional and timely communication
  • Perform project and contract reviews, including customer and vendor purchase proposals
  • Analyze engineering estimates and tooling proposals to support accurate customer pricing and delivery commitments
  • Coordinate and facilitate resolution of customer issues related to design, quality, pricing, tooling, schedules, change orders, and warranty claims
  • Provide technical assistance to customer purchasing, quality, and engineering teams
  • Act as an โ€œon-callโ€ internal Sales Engineer during absences of external Sales Engineers
  • Assist with preparation of marketing materials, presentations, market analysis, and research
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Sales leadership

Qualifications & Skills

  • Associateโ€™s degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred; Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred
  • Experience in customer relations, sales support, or a technical customer-facing role preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organizational and project coordination abilities
  • Ability and interest in applying technical and engineering concepts in a sales support environment
  • Knowledge of product design concepts, materials, blueprint reading, and basic applied math is a plus
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and collaborating across departments
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Primarily office-based with periodic exposure to a manufacturing environment
  • Standard schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday, 8:00 a.m. โ€“ 5:00 p.m. (with occasional flexibility based on workload)
  • Periodic travel to Centro facilities, customer sites, vendors, or industry events may be required
