Position Summary Information
Job Goal
The Workforce and Programming Coordinator provides direct assistance to the Executive Director of Workforce and Programming to support and enhance workforce initiatives and programming within the NICC district. This position focuses on program implementation, student and employer engagement, and coordination of workforce education initiatives that respond to community and institutional needs. This position will also act as a coach for career pathway certificate students.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain PACE and GAP program policies and procedure ranging from the application process to attendance expectations for participants.
Responsible for implementing and monitoring PACE/GAP, Opportunity Dubuque and other funding sources, tracking and reporting, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and adherence to state regulations and standards.
Participate statewide Gap and PACE meetings to stay informed on policy and/or legislative changes in the management of GAP/PACE initiatives, as well as initiatives that pertain to workforce training programs.
Provide proactive outreach and transition coaching to CPC and HSED students nearing completion to increase immediate next-step enrollment into credit programs.
Work in collaboration with continuing education, adult literacy and high school equivalency programs, secondary programs, admissions, financial aid, credit academic departments, and other college programs to develop structured transition pathways that move students from non-credit and HSED completion into credit-bearing certificates, diplomas, and degree programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in workforce development, education, business administration, or a related field preferred. Experience in workforce programming, business engagement, or education administration is a plus. Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with various stakeholders. Knowledge of workforce training, apprenticeship models, and student engagement strategies preferred. Proficiency in data tracking and reporting systems. Commitment to promoting educational access and workforce success.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Essential Functions
The candidate must have strong leadership ability; excellent communication skills; and must be ethical, honest, and objective. Experience with and aptitude for working with representatives from business, industry, education, and other agencies in the identification of vocational and general education programming to meet the needs of the department and the college. Ability to assimilate data and to organize presentations for individuals and groups. Skilled in short-term and long-range planning. Committed to excellence in teaching and learning. Commitment and willingness to participate fully in quality improvement at the personal, departmental, and institutional levels. Demonstrated ability to teach in both a face-face and online instructional format.
