Lani Rooftop Lounge is seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven Assistant General Manager to support daily operations, elevate the guest experience, and help build one of Powells premier rooftop dining and cocktail destinations.
Lani is an elevated rooftop lounge located within COhatch Powell, designed around craft cocktails, globally inspired small plates, private events, rooftop experiences, and high-touch hospitality. We are looking for a leader who is hands-on, organized, solution-oriented, and passionate about building a strong team culture.
Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager will support the General Manager in leading day-to-day front-of-house operations, service execution, team training, guest experience, private events, and revenue growth opportunities. This role requires someone who can lead from the floor, hold standards with consistency, and create a polished, welcoming experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the General Manager in daily restaurant and rooftop operations
  • Lead front-of-house shifts with strong floor presence and accountability
  • Coach, train, and develop servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff
  • Ensure consistent service standards, hospitality language, and guest engagement
  • Support private events, rooftop experiences, and special programming
  • Assist with scheduling, labor management, and daily sales goals
  • Drive upselling, premium service, and revenue-building opportunities
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, opening/closing standards, and operational discipline
  • Partner with BOH and bar leadership to ensure smooth communication and execution
  • Respond to guest concerns with professionalism and urgency
  • Support inventory, ordering, reporting, and manager communication systems as needed
  • Help build a positive, high-accountability team culture
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a confident hospitality leader who enjoys being on the floor, developing people, solving problems, and creating memorable guest experiences. This person should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and understand the balance between elevated service, team accountability, and business results.
Qualifications
  • Previous restaurant management or assistant management experience preferred
  • Strong front-of-house leadership and guest service background
  • Bar, lounge, rooftop, hotel, or elevated casual dining experience is a plus
  • Experience with private events or high-volume service preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead, coach, and hold standards consistently
  • Comfortable working nights, weekends, holidays, and peak service periods
  • Familiarity with Toast, scheduling systems, or restaurant reporting tools is a plus
