Job Description
The Multicultural Center is seeking a creative, motivated, and dependable student to join our team as a Programming Assistant. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, contributing ideas, and helping create engaging events and activities for the campus community.
What You'll Do
  • Provide friendly front-desk support, including greeting visitors, answering phones, filing, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assist with special events, including setup, takedown, logistics, and promoting activities.
  • Support the Ram Pantry and help plan and promote monthly programs.
  • Maintain and update the Center's social media platforms.
  • Enter data, process letters/emails, take meeting minutes, and run occasional campus errands.
  • Present information about the Center's programs to students and visitors.
  • Explain policies, procedures, and services in a positive and helpful manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be a currently enrolled student and registered for classes.
    • Students working during the summer must be enrolled in summer courses or registered for the fall semester.
  • Must meet all Work Study eligibility requirements through the Financial Aid Office.
  • Ability to work both in the Center and remotely, as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service and strong interpersonal/social skills.
  • Knowledge of basic technical skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher (or similar creative design programs).
  • Appropriate semi-professional attire required due to the Center's visibility.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Schedules that fit the front desk operational requirements and coverage;
  • Knowledge of the campus programs and policies;
  • Knowledge of the MC Programs and Activities.
