Essential DutiesThe Programming Assistant supports the Center for Multicultural & Community Engagement and Success Initiatives by providing front desk coverage, assisting with programs and events, and supporting daily office operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Greet visitors, answer phones, and respond to general inquiries using professional etiquette
- Perform clerical duties such as data entry, filing, processing correspondence, and maintaining office supplies
- Provide front desk coverage in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent customer service
- Assist with the Ram Pantry and support student engagement events and activities
- Assist with research and development of monthly programming initiatives
- Maintain and update the Center's social media platforms
- Manage equipment check-in and check-out through the Lending Library
- Present information to students and visitors in both formal and informal settings
- Explain program information, policies, and procedures as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace, including shared areas
- Run campus errands and assist with special projects as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications - Must be a currently enrolled student and registered for classes
- Ability to work both remotely and on-site as needed
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from various backgrounds and contribute to a respectful campus environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
- Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or similar programs
- Ability to maintain professionalism, including appropriate workplace attire
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications - Availability that aligns with front desk operational hours and coverage needs
- Familiarity with campus programs, services, and policies
- Familiarity with multicultural and community engagement programs and activities
