Job Description

The Student Finance Systems Programmer/Developer is responsible for delivering system, reporting and analytics solutions that ensure accuracy, timeliness and alignment with business needs. This position will support system programming development, document system requirements, define scope and objectives, work with business departments to optimize processes, and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies. The Student Finance Systems Programmer/Developer is the primary liaison between business and technology teams. The Student Finance Systems Programmer/Developer understands business requirements/requests and is able to translate such requests to the various technology groups in order to produce the best solution to support the business needs. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as an IT contact/interface to the business.
  • Develops requirements and specifications for enhancements to existing applications.
  • Participates with project teams involved in defining, developing, acquiring and implementing new software applications.
  • Maintains a standard level of user documentation.
  • Assists with the development of user acceptance test plans and certifies test results.
  • Reviews proposed technology initiatives generated within the business units.
  • Assures that the business case for an initiative is within the division's strategic plan and provides assistance to the business in developing the return on investment documentation.
  • Helps business operations utilize information systems to improve efficiency.
  • Ability to work closely with external vendors and internal users in project execution (development and implementation), including resolution of issues, capture of further requirements adhering to SDLC gates and risk identification/ management.
  • Ability to actively manage competing deliverables to meet business commitments and Development Manager/Project Manager's expectations, as well as monitor and report the on-going project status.
  • Support team data and reporting initiatives; Ensure consistent data standards and practices are upheld across business units.
  • Partner with system developers to translate business requirements into scalable, user-friendly applications
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • 2+ years experience in IT/Software Development business analysis experience.
  • SQL Writing/Coding/GCP Usage
  • Strong experience modifying and supporting custom .NET desktop applications (WinForms and WPF) built with C# and VB.NET, including developing against SQL Server databases.
  • Experience with higher education
  • Experience with CRM tools (i.e., Salesforce.com, RightNow) and SDLC knowledge and exposure

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $61,720.78 and $86,176. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
