Job description

At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a CNC Programmer to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Power Bus Way Team in Mississauga, ON. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for providing support to engineering and fabrication departments with their technical expertise.

What Will You Do?

  • Programming a variety of machines including, but not limited to Amada Turret punches.
  • Interpret mechanical design drawings and specifications.
  • Apply machine tooling selections to manufacture parts most cost-effectively.
  • Design and request procurement of tools as necessary.
  • Prepare detailed standardized work instructions and set-up sheets.
  • Utilize software and experience to continuously improve the run time and programming time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Education:

  • Minimum of 3 years working with programming in a metal fabrication environment.

Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong computer and metal manufacturing skills.
  • Able to demonstrate good manufacturing practices and implement appropriate tooling for specific tasks.
  • Design – knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production.
  • Interpretation of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models, for sheet metal fabrication.
  • Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials used in sheet metal fabrication, production processes, bend deductions, turret punch press tooling, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
  • Time management – Ability to organize tasks in order of importance and use time most effectively to complete all work promptly.
  • Dependability – The job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and thoroughly completing all tasks.
  • Engineering – Engineering experience/background with strong mechanical aptitude is helpful.
  • Experience with various machinery, fabrication practices, and materials.
  • Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with innovation to economically solve production problems promptly.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, Amada Software, Blueprint, and GD&T reading capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment where experience and collaboration are part of the culture.

Salary Range: $34.00-$37.00/hourly
