Minimum Job Requirements

  • Working Hours - fulltime
  • Personal Traits - Good communication skills with positive teamwork attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organization skills and ability to multi-task and trouble shoot.
  • Knowledge - must be able to read a print to detail.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, email, ERP, statistical, and other business software.
  • Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work extended hours as needed. Be available for on-call needs as required.

Job Duties

  • Program CMM instruments using Calypso and PC-Dims with and without a Solid model.
  • Operate CMM instruments running Calypso such as Zeiss and Hexagon instruments.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance of CMM instruments such as Zeiss and Hexagon instruments.
  • Read blueprints, interpret GD&T, and calculate allowed bonus tolerances on precision machined parts.
  • Execute check fixture design and validation as part of new program development.
  • Teach less skilled employees in the operation, maintenance and qualification of Quality Equipment including CCMs, calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, and other Quality metrology instruments.
  • Inspect first article and audit of finished parts.
  • Understand the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
  • Ensure internal and external customer satisfaction by working with the Quality Manager.
  • Work safely and ensure hazardous conditions are eliminated. Follow company safety procedures. Operate equipment within the parameters of the Company's safety standards while meeting the customer's quality requirements.
  • Communicate accurately and effectively to other individuals in the department as well as other departments.
  • Complete tasks independently as instructed by Quality Manager.
  • Follow and execute Quality System procedures.
  • Maintain neat and clean work area.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Responsibilities and Authority

  • Responsible for CMM programming that determines product conformity to requirements.
  • Authority to interface with suppliers associated with CMM equipment and programming issues.
  • Authority to interface with customers and Latitude Engineering Department with regards to CMM programming and outputs.
  • Authority to pass/fail parts based on customer requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in CMM Calypso and PC-Dims programming.
  • Proficient in the operation of CMM instruments running Zeiss and Hexagon instruments.
  • Proficient in the routine and preventive maintenance of CMM instruments such as Zeiss and Hexagon instruments.
  • Proficient in CAD, SolidWorks preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T as used in precision machined parts.
  • Ability to read blueprints, interpret GD&T, and calculate allowed tolerances on measured parts.
  • Experience with PPAP, FAI, IDL, FLDR, etc.
  • Experience with check fixture design and validation as part of new program development.
  • Ability to teach less skilled employees in the operation, maintenance and qualification of Quality Equipment including CCMs, calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, and other Quality metrology instruments.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in CMM programming
