JOB PROFILE SUMMARY:

The Programmer is responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs used in the manufacturing of precision tooling and components. This role requires a deep understanding of machining processes, tooling, and CAD/CAM software. The Programmer collaborates with design engineers, toolmakers, and machinists to ensure efficient and accurate production of parts in a Tool & Die environment.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

The individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the job duties listed below.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine appropriate machining operations.
  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using G-code and CAM software.
  • Work closely with Toolmakers to develop and refine machining processes.
  • Utilize Creo Parametric to:
  • Create and assemble 3D models.
  • Modify existing part and assembly models.
  • Design electrodes based on part models.
  • Operate and program using Autodesk Power mill software.
  • Apply knowledge of CNC equipment to select efficient and high-quality tool paths.
  • Understand and apply appropriate feeds and speeds (SFM, IPR) for various machining operations.
  • Manage digital files and folders for organized workflow and data access.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with the CNC Specialist and other team members.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience:

  • 5+ or more years of related experience
  • Knowledge of the injection mold building and injection molding is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
  • Experience with G-code, M-code, and post-processing for CNC machines.
  • Familiarity with Tool & Die manufacturing processes and materials.

Education:

  • Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology or completion of a certified CNC programming program.
  • Certification in CNC Programming or equivalent trade certification preferred.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC simulation tools.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a high-precision Tool & Die manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and operating machinery.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for precision work.
