Engineering Manager
Location: Madison, WI (Metro Area)
Employment Type: Full-Time / Direct-Hire
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead capital planning, project execution, and utilities management within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving automation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives while overseeing critical plant utility systems and cross-functional capital investments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a 1-5 year capital plan in partnership with Safety, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, and Finance teams
  • Lead and execute capital projects focused on automation, safety improvements, quality enhancements, cost reduction, and production efficiency
  • Provide engineering leadership in automation and production design, driving innovative and forward-thinking solutions
  • Support plant operations through technical expertise and project leadership across multiple functions
  • Oversee plant utilities, ensuring reliable and compliant operation of systems including refrigeration, ammonia, nitrogen, steam, natural gas, and compressed air
  • Manage and develop the Utilities team to ensure optimal system performance and adherence to safety and regulatory standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and efficiency

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience, including at least 3 years in food manufacturing
  • Experience managing multi-million dollar capital projects, including budgeting and long-term planning
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to operate at a strategic level
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment
