JOB OVERVIEW

The Programmer is responsible for laying out parts needed to be cut on a laser nest while achieving material efficiency goals and maintaining a production schedule at multiple work centers. The position will work closely with operators, production managers, and CAD programming departments to achieve organizational success.

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)

  • Arrange parts for laser, waterjet, and sheet/plate processing equipment.
  • Report material/inventory discrepancies.
  • Utilize ERP for inventory management.
  • Keep relevant clerical records up to date.
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace.
  • Collaborate with departments and team members for accurate, timely project completion.
  • Identify issues, propose solutions, and present data for alternative actions.
  • Show initiative and readiness for added responsibilities.
  • Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet project goals.
  • Foster teamwork by assisting others and accepting feedback positively.
  • Perform additional duties as needed for production.
  • Support company initiatives like safety, LEAN, and 6S practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: minimum of 1 - 3 years’ experience preferred
  • Skilled in operating a forklift with full adherence to safety regulations (where applicable).
  • Able to read and understand sales orders, inventory records, and receiving documents.
  • Capable of writing standard documentation and sharing information with colleagues.
  • Experienced with CAD, including navigating drawings.
  • Prior AutoCAD experience strongly preferred.
  • Basic understanding of G Optimation Code.
  • Familiar with fundamental manufacturing practices.
