Engineering Manager

Schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday | Day Shift

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for overseeing engineering projects, equipment reliability, process improvements, capital projects, and new product implementation while providing leadership and technical support to the engineering team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong manufacturing background and a passion for improving safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team while promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Manage engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Support manufacturing operations by identifying and implementing process improvements that increase productivity, reduce downtime, and improve quality.

  • Oversee capital improvement projects, including equipment selection, installation, and startup.

  • Partner with production, maintenance, quality, purchasing, and operations teams to achieve company objectives.

  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, documentation, and best practices.

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and implement lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop action plans to improve equipment reliability and operational performance.

  • Assist with new product launches by ensuring equipment, tooling, and processes are ready for production.

  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and applicable industry standards.

  • Manage engineering budgets, project timelines, and outside contractors when required.

  • Provide technical guidance for troubleshooting complex manufacturing and equipment issues.

  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives to maximize equipment uptime.

  • Participate in strategic planning and long-term facility improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering field.

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Previous leadership or management experience overseeing engineers or technical teams.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Experience with capital equipment, automation, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD software is preferred.

  • Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment reliability, and root cause analysis.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.

  • Budget management and capital planning experience.
