Programmatic Publisher information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Programmatic Publisher, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Programmatic Publisher, you need strong analytical skills, digital advertising knowledge, and experience with ad operations, often supported by a degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Proficiency with demand-side platforms (DSPs), supply-side platforms (SSPs), ad exchanges, and analytics tools like Google Ad Manager and DoubleClick is typically required. Outstanding communication, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail help you optimize revenue and build strong relationships with advertisers. These skills and qualities are crucial for maximizing inventory value, ensuring efficient ad delivery, and maintaining competitive advantage in the digital advertising ecosystem.

How does a Programmatic Publisher typically collaborate with advertisers and ad tech partners to optimize revenue?

A Programmatic Publisher works closely with advertisers, demand-side platforms (DSPs), and ad tech partners to maximize ad revenue and fill rates. This involves managing relationships, troubleshooting delivery issues, and leveraging analytics to adjust floor prices or ad placements for better performance. Publishers often participate in regular meetings with partners to review campaign effectiveness, discuss inventory opportunities, and ensure compliance with brand safety and viewability standards. Collaborating across these teams helps publishers stay agile in a rapidly changing digital advertising landscape and ensures they are positioned to capture the most value from their inventory.

What is a Programmatic Publisher?

A Programmatic Publisher is a company or individual who owns digital media properties, such as websites or apps, and sells ad space on those properties through automated, real-time bidding platforms. They use programmatic advertising technology to connect their inventory with advertisers, maximizing revenue by allowing multiple buyers to bid for ad placement. Programmatic publishers rely on tools like ad exchanges, supply-side platforms (SSPs), and demand-side platforms (DSPs) to automate and optimize the sale of their ad inventory. This process increases efficiency, transparency, and targeting capabilities compared to traditional ad sales methods.

All candidates must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI with Poly to be considered for the position
As the Tableau Systems Engineer, you will combine hands-on Tableau development with systems-engineering advisory expertise to deliver mission-impactful visual analytics across the customer's Ground Enterprise. This role requires a blend of deep dashboard-building skills, data-analysis proficiency, and the ability to support enterprise-level data visualization strategies in a SETA environment. Your work will enhance data quality, analytic rigor, and operational awareness for Government leadership.
Responsibilities to include:
  • Design, develop, and deploy new Tableau dashboards that provide mission, programmatic, and technical insights across the Ground Enterprise.
  • Enhance and maintain existing dashboards, improving usability, accuracy, performance, and alignment with evolving Government priorities.
  • Assess and validate data sources, ensuring data integrity, completeness, and readiness for visualization.
  • Collaborate closely with Government stakeholders to gather analytic requirements and translate them into intuitive, high-impact visualizations and data flows.
  • Evaluate dashboard architecture and dependencies, providing SETA advisory recommendations to improve reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Conduct data modeling, transformation, and integration tasks to support new visualizations and analytic workflows.
  • Perform testing, verification, regression checks, and quality assurance to ensure dashboards reflect accurate, mission-aligned data.
  • Document dashboard logic, data pipelines, filters, calculations, and usage patterns to maintain analytic continuity.
  • Stay current with Tableau features, visualization best practices, and enterprise BI trends to guide capability enhancements.
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen analytic maturity, streamline reporting processes, and support leadership decision-making.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI with Poly to be considered for the position
  • Two (2) years of hands-on Tableau dashboard development experience (design, build, publish, optimize).

  • Experience with data extraction, transformation, modeling, and integration across diverse data sets.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with relational databases and enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and convert it into actionable insights.
  • Experience applying visualization best practices, cognitive design principles, or UI/UX techniques specific to analytic dashboards.
  • Ability to produce executive-level visualizations and communicate analytic insights succinctly to senior leadership, technical, and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong collaboration and cross-team coordination skills, particularly in fast-paced SETA environments.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to shifting priorities and evolving mission needs.
