Advance Testing Company, a SOCOTEC Company, is currently seeking a Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician


Advance Testing Company, an established New York-based construction materials testing and inspection firm with several offices throughout the Northeast, has an opportunity available for a Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician. The position would be based out of Advance Testing's Newtown, CT office.


Advance Testing Company performs testing and inspection of materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, asphalt, fireproofing and firestopping. Typical assignments include projects related to construction of roads, bridges, airports, tunnels, commercial and industrial buildings, schools, government and military sites, and material fabrication and production facilities.


RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures and materials used conform to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Perform standard testing of materials.
  • Prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing.
  • Examine workmanship of installations for conformity to specifications.
  • Maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities and complete clear, accurate reports daily.
  • Prepare sketches of construction installations that correlate with testing and inspection sites.
  • Other related duties may be assigned.



Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of construction materials testing
  • OSHA 10 or 30
  • Nuclear Density Certification
  • At least one of the following:

o ACI Field 1

o NETTCP soils & aggregate or similar

o NETTCP Plant

o NETTCP Paving

o NYS QCQA

o NYS Density Testing Inspector

o NECETP Field

o NECETP Plant 1 or 2

o NJSAT Construction Technologist

o NJSAT Plant 1 or 2

  • Strong focus on safe work practices and adherence to all safety protocols
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work independently
  • Must be able to travel and to perform site visits
  • Requires a valid, clean driver's license
  • Applicants may be required to obtain any security clearances and background confirmation for sensitive projects and locations.
