Job description

The Arc of Cumberland and Perry Counties in Carlisle is seeking a dedicated and energetic Program Supervisor to join our team! This position is responsible for supervising program staff, supporting participants in achieving their personal goals, and ensuring the smooth operation of the program site. This role also provides both leadership and hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them thrive at home, at the center, and within their community.

Key Responsibilities Participant Support
  • Ensures safety of participants including appropriate supervision of program staff, implements and enforces fire and safety rules, monitors condition of physical site and ensures safe conditions. Responds to emergency situations.
  • Assists with administration and documentation of medications.
  • Increase vocational skills leading to improved opportunity for vocational placement
  • Assists participants in areas described in their Individual Support Plan and/or Person Centered Plan.
  • Assists participants to learn positive behaviors that maximize their involvement in community activities and their interactions with others.

Program Responsibilities:

  • Assists Associate Director in pursuing volunteer opportunities in the community based on program participants' individual interests.
  • Maintains open communications with participants, families, supports coordinators, behavioral consultants, and other team members.
  • Supervising program staff in these areas
  • Conducts staff meetings, Individual Support Plan meetings, and training sessions as directed.
  • Plans, conducts and coordinates recreation and training programs and activities at the center. Groups staff to participants to maximize participants' involvement.
  • Conducts and coordinates educational, recreational/social and pre-vocational training programs and activities at the program site and in the community.
  • Ensures that fire and safety procedures are followed and assists individuals as necessary. Provides assistance in emergency situation, including first aid and CPR procedures, to the extent of ability and training.
  • Monitors participants Accessible Cash Accounts on a weekly basis, ensuring all accounts are accurate.

Administrative/Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Ensures proper incident management - reports to Point Person, facilitates investigations, acts as certified investigator for other programs as directed, etc.
  • Operates in accordance with program's budget.
  • Scheduling of program staff to ensure that proper supervision ratios are met for each individual in accordance with their current ISP.
  • Initiates disciplinary action to staff when appropriate, according to standards set in CPARC
  • Timely submission of all required paperwork (eg. timesheets, leave slips, evaluations, supply requests, purchase orders and invoices, required reports for program participants, etc.).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of direct experience working with individuals with disabilities, OR Associate's Degree (or 60 college credits) and 4 years of direct experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Experience with positive behavior support and staff supervision preferred
  • Must be physically able to assist participants
  • Valid PA driver's license required
