Job description

Assistant Restaurant Manager Reports To: Restaurant General Manager Status: Full-Time FLSA Classification: Salary, Exempt Position Summary The Assistant Restaurant Manager (ARM) supports the Restaurant General Manager in the day-to-day operation and performance of the restaurant. The ARM provides leadership to the restaurant team, supports guest service, financial and operational results, food quality, safety, staffing, and compliance with Pizza Hut standards. The ARM may assume responsibility for restaurant operations during assigned shifts or in the absence of the Restaurant General Manager and is expected to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for advancement into an RGM role.

Key Responsibilities Restaurant Operations & Guest Experience Support day-to-day restaurant operations and ensure consistent execution of Pizza Hut standards. Lead restaurant operations during assigned shifts and in the absence of the RGM. Maintain high standards for food quality, order accuracy, cleanliness, speed of service, and restaurant readiness.

Provide hands-on operational support and model appropriate skills and behaviors for the restaurant team. Ensure guests receive friendly, professional, and timely service and assist with resolving guest concerns. Support new product rollouts, promotions, and Company operational initiatives.

Ensure restaurant facilities and equipment are maintained to Company standards. Team Leadership & Development Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, coaching, and developing team members and managers. Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, recognition, and feedback to the restaurant team.

Assist the RGM in maintaining appropriate staffing levels and developing staffing plans. Train and develop Team Members, Shift Leaders, and Shift Managers. Support employee performance management and address conduct, attendance, or performance concerns in accordance with Company policies.

Partner with the RGM and Human Resources, as appropriate, regarding corrective action or other employee-relations matters. Promote teamwork, accountability, open communication, and a respectful work environment. Financial & Business Performance Assist the RGM in managing restaurant sales, labor, food cost, inventory, and controllable expenses.

Monitor restaurant performance and take appropriate action within assigned authority to support sales and profitability goals. Assist with sales forecasts, labor planning, inventory counts, product ordering, and other financial controls. Support preparation and execution of restaurant financial and operational plans.

Identify performance opportunities and assist the RGM in developing and implementing action plans. Communicate restaurant results and significant operational concerns to the RGM. Safety, Food Quality & Compliance Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary restaurant environment.

Ensure compliance with applicable food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and health requirements. Ensure products are prepared, stored, and served according to Pizza Hut standards. Follow and reinforce Company safety, security, cash-handling, and asset-protection procedures.

Address unsafe conditions or practices promptly and report incidents as required. Support restaurant readiness for applicable inspections, audits, and brand evaluations. Inventory, Sales & Restaurant Support Assist with inventory counts, product ordering, receiving, and waste controls.

Support local restaurant marketing and sales-building activities. Assist with implementation of new products and Company programs. Maintain professional working relationships with approved suppliers and Company contacts.

Support other restaurant and market priorities as assigned. Qualifications One to two years of restaurant, food-service, or related experience preferred. High school education, specialized training, or equivalent experience preferred.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to coach, train, motivate, and provide direction to others. Strong guest-service and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to plan, prioritize, and delegate effectively. Basic business, math, and financial skills.

Ability to analyze restaurant performance information and take appropriate action. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and other shifts based on business needs.

Completion of required Pizza Hut training and certifications. Essential Functions & Work Environment The Assistant Restaurant Manager must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The position requires working in an active restaurant environment and providing hands-on operational support as needed.
