Job description

AllPeopleBeHappy seeks a full-time Outreach Assistant to support community-based global learning and impact projects. The candidate will primarily be responsible to (1) manage all back-end program planning systems (2) plan and facilitate AllPeopleBeHappyโ€™s community-based programming, and (3) manage AllPeopleBeHappyโ€™s campus intern program. The ideal candidate will have experience in administrative work and customer relationship management software, experiential-learning, and be inspired to be in the field of global education.


AllPeopleBeHappy is a Pittsburgh-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to connect, inspire, and improve the lives of individuals and communities through global learning experiences and sustainable development projects. Through unique education and community grassroots partnerships, AllPeopleBeHappy is able to offer community-based learning programs and support sustainable community development projects around the world.  


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


Administrative

  • Manage all backend administrative needs to ensure successful community-based learning programs. This includes but is not limited to collecting participant forms, creating program contracts and invoices, and communicating directly with group leaders, community partners, and AllPeopleBeHappy staff.
  • Manage backend website changes as needed, including communicating with website designers and marketing consultants.
  • Provide administrative support for community development projects as needed.


Programming

  • Plan and facilitate AllPeopleBeHappyโ€™s community-based learning programs as needed.
  • Provide community-based learning program support including availability to travel to up to five weeks per year to facilitate programs.
  • Implement community-based learning programs in an inspiring and reflective way.
  • Act as the first point of contact for education partners and individual leads.


Outreach

  • Speak on behalf of AllPeopleBeHappy and conduct organizational outreach activities, including attending study abroad fairs, conferences, and visiting education partners.
  • Design and manage an intern program at multiple university campuses to help develop and grow AllPeopleBeHappyโ€™s presence. 
  • Assist with ensuring a strong content and storytelling pipeline.

  • Contribute to an organizational culture of flexibility, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct at all times.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must embrace AllPeopleBeHappyโ€™s mission and commitment to access to global education for all.
  • Willing to work nights and weekends for community-based learning programs, events, and as needed. 
  • Must be based within a 5 hour drive of Washington D.C.
  • If Pittsburgh, PA based, must be available to go into the office on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays. Work from home is possible on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, as well as experiencing and interest in using AI.
  • A proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred. 
  • Spanish speaking skills are preferred.
  • Demonstrate a focus to detail and the organizational skills required for effective and efficient processes.
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with a wide range of diverse partners.
  • Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Driver's license are required for regional travel.
  • Willing to drive 12/15 passenger vans for community-based learning programs.

Compensation: This position is full-time exempt salary. The starting salary range is $38,000 - $43,000 annually. AllPeopleBeHappy offers a very competitive benefits package, including generous paid time off, paid health, vision, and dental insurance coverage, and a matching 401K program.
