Shift: 7 nights on, 7 nights off: 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM with holiday rotation

The Pharmacy Support Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the pharmacy. This role plays a critical role in ensuring safe and effective patient care by obtaining accurate and up-to-date medication histories upon hospital admission. This position is responsible for interviewing patients and/or caregivers to gather detailed information regarding current medications, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, and supplements. In addition, the Pharmacy Support Assistant will contact retail pharmacies, outpatient providers, and other healthcare institutions as needed to verify and clarify medication information. The information collected will be documented and communicated to the pharmacist for review, supporting providers in making informed clinical decisions.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact professionally with patients and healthcare partners are essential for success in this role. We provide comprehensive training for candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and demonstrate a willingness to learn and contribute to patient care.
