Description and Requirements
The Role:
The Division Operations Leader is responsible for overseeing all operational functions and teams that support revenue retention and growth within the Programs Division. This role ensures strategic alignment across departments and drives operational excellence to meet financial and performance goals.
What You'll Do:
  • Manage and develop operations across underwriting, retention, account management, systems support, technical resources, training, and customer service teams.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive retention strategies to support the division's financial growth objectives.
  • Partner with the Chief Underwriting Officer to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including licensing, E&S filings, and carrier contracts.
  • Collaborate with division leadership to develop and manage the annual department budget, aligning with new business, retention, and staffing goals.
  • Work closely with HR, finance, and other stakeholders to recommend staffing solutions that meet operational needs and staffing targets.
  • Identify and implement continuous operational improvements to enhance client, customer, and broker retention, as well as support new business growth.
  • Establish and enforce standard operating processes, practices, goals, and procedures across the Programs division.
  • Define and monitor operational goals, targets, and KPIs. Ensure accountability and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Manage and execute the renewal solicitation process across the Programs division. Improve retention through targeted strategies, expanded product offerings, and performance tracking.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve submit/quote/bind metrics, staff productivity, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Internal Audit and the Chief Underwriting Officer to drive audit improvements, coordinating with internal and external audit teams as needed.
  • Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to inform strategic decisions.

What We're Looking For:
  • 10+ years of experience in a commercial property & casualty insurance agency.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Prior managerial experience required with strong team leadership capabilities.
  • Expert understanding of Property & Casualty insurance.
  • Must hold a Property & Casualty insurance license.
  • Industry designation such as ARM, CIC, CPCU strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong knowledge of agency management systems and Commercial Lines operations required. Experience with Sagitta/ImageRight preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and a creative, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
