Our Mission
At Beyond Karate, we provide physical training beyond martial arts, facilitating programs like Karate, Day Camps, Workshops, Life Skills, Tutoring, and other activities geared towards children, teens, adults and their families; the majority of which are neurodivergent or have varying special needs. Our goal is to support and empower growth, self-esteem and teach the tools required to live life with greater confidence and purpose. We meet each student where they are and create a plan for them that highlights their abilities and encourages them to level up for success!
Job Summary
Our rapidly growing organization is seeking a proactive and experienced Program Manager to join our team! You will play a key role in overseeing and facilitating creative workshops for students, running seasonal day camps in our city parks and beaches, and supporting various day-to-day operations. Depending on your experience, you may also assist with our karate program.
We are looking for someone who can eventually lead or substitute in classes, assist with administrative tasks, and support the needs of the center as they arise. Flexibility and multitasking are essential, as we are a small team where everyone pitches in to create an exceptional experience for our community.
The ideal candidate will be:

This role has the potential to grow from part-time to full-time as the program expands!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Administrative & Logistical Support
Handle administrative tasks, scheduling, and roster management.
Assist Sensei Mallica with business needs (errands, phone calls, scheduling).
Ensure documents are prepared and printed for the next workday.
Create systems for new projects and maintain efficient operations.
Compile and send end-of-day reports to Sensei Mallica.
Help new families with onboarding.
2. Team & Program Management
Oversee staff instructors and ensure smooth operation of all programs (camps, workshops, leadership training, etc.).
Lead the team to meet program deadlines and ensure quality delivery.
Maintain a positive attitude and deliver exceptional customer service.
Assist with program-related logistics, including organizing supplies, equipment, and merchandise.
3. Operational & Facility Management
Close and secure the dojo at the end of each day, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
Ensure all supplies are replenished for the next day
Up to date on student needs and requirements
Ensure all health and safety guidelines are followed.
Have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of Beyond Karate (open Monday-Saturday).
Qualifications
  • Must pass a background check and be CPR/First Aid certified before starting.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and willing to learn other platforms.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and prioritize tasks with limited supervision.
  • Experience working with neurodivergent children and/or adults.
  • A professional and positive demeanor, with excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to think creatively and handle complex situations.
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods.
  • Prior experience as a camp counselor and/or interest in creative arts is a plus!
  • Familiarity in HIPAA compliance a plus!
  • Experience in martial arts - A Plus!!
  • A sense of humor and a love for our students!

Initial Screening: Our hiring team will review all applications and select candidates who meet the initial qualifications for a brief phone interview.
Phone Interview: Selected candidates will be contacted for a phone interview to discuss their experience, skills, and interest in the role.
In-Person Interview: Candidates who pass the phone interview will be invited for an in-person interview at our dojo. This interview will include a tour of our facilities and a meeting with Sensei Mallica and other key team members.
Background Check and Certification Verification: Candidates who are considered for the position will need to pass a background check and provide proof of CPR/First Aid certification.
Final Decision: After all interviews and checks are completed, we will make a final decision and extend an offer to the selected candidate.
Onboarding: Once the offer is accepted, the new hire will go through an onboarding process, including training and orientation to familiarize them with our programs, policies, and team.
