Job Summary
The Corporate Quality Manager will provide strategic oversight of the entire quality organization, ensuring alignment between customer quality, supplier quality, program quality, and manufacturing quality.  This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing and production requirements to ensure they meet customer needs and internal targets.  They will oversee and lead activities to develop and enhance existing quality metrics, standard operating procedures, ensure program timing, strategic deliverables, and tool and part approval readiness. This individual will also comply with provincial and federal laws, health & safety policies, and all company procedures (internal QMS/ISO 9001/IATF 16949).
 
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • 10+ experience in implementing and managing manufacturing quality management systems
  • 5+ years leading and managing a manufacturing quality team
  • Experience in new program pre-production, in process verification, launch, validation and production
  • Direct experience in injection mold, precision machining, or tool & mold environment
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and apply these skills to improve quality
  • Managed through IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 audits as the main point of contact
  • Internal auditor certification is highly desirable
  • Robust knowledge and experience with problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Red-X, Kaizen, Six Sigma), certification is highly desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in world-class manufacturing or Lean Manufacturing methodologies
  • Strong leader and team builder, interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work in a self-directed environment as well as in a high-pressure team environment, are required
  • Availability to travel to domestic and international customer locations to conduct reviews and audits
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic continuous improvement, planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • Time management skills, well organized, detail-oriented with the ability to handle with the ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines while performing tasks accurately
  • Ability to adapt and welcome change in a positive manner
  • Ability to analyze incomplete information and implement timely decision-making while mitigating risks
  • Proficient in computers with the ability to use various computer applications such as Microsoft Office, etc.

Job Requirements and Responsibilities
  • Lead, define, develop and implement all corporate quality metrics and support training of team members
  • Identify potential R&D opportunities and process appropriate documentation
  • Support the selection of critical/special characteristics
  • Drive use of all core tools to ensure an effective quality management system
  • Support technical reviews to achieve customer manufacturing feasibility, on-time development, off-tool off-process readiness and other key supply deliverables
  • Closely coordinate with manufacturing, production, engineering and other cross-functional teams to ensure the execution of robust quality strategies to support timelines and launch plan (preventive risk assessment, action planning, support continuous improvement, Quality KPI reporting)
  • Lead risk assessments (PFMEA reviews – schedule and update), compliance with the quality management system, traceability, workforce training, etc.
  • Manage all internal and external quality concerns
  • Lead management review meetings for Quality
  • Lead internal and external audit programs
  • Handle confidential information with the highest degree of professionalism
  • Warranty management, including tracking, root cause analysis and resolution
  • Participate in internal audits and lead all external production audits (customer/ISO 9001/IATF 16949)
  • Own and maintain our corporate Quality Management (QMS) procedures
  • Visit customer sites and establish a close working relationship
  • Establish and maintain a close working relationship with all areas of the company
  • Supervise Quality team
  • Other duties as assigned

**Wage range for this position is $120,000-$140,000
