The Program Manager will be a dynamic individual with an entrepreneurial mindset that is not afraid to take the lead and become responsible for driving change to develop a stronger business. In this role, the incumbent must be an objective thinker and problem solver, while processing the ability to solve challenging tasks to completion by building cooperative and influential relationships with numerous groups that impact the business on multiple levels.

The hiring team is primarily seeking candidates based in the Cheektowaga, NY area. Although this role is posted across multiple locations to identify qualified talent, the expectation is that the selected candidate will be based in Cheektowaga.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Independently manage medium-large size/complexity program(s).
  • Accountable for program P&L including cost, schedule, technical performance across program lifecycle to meet customer and business commitments.
  • Responsible for inspiring employees to achieve high performance, accountable for delivering growth, accomplishing business objectives, and ensuring the efficient deployment of internal investments.
  • Primary customer liaison responsible for all program activities identifying customer gaps/needs and translating into new business opportunities.
  • Effectively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and foster cross-business area collaboration.
  • Work in a highly dynamic and changing environment and adapt to shifting customer priorities.
  • Engage across the enterprise including Business Development, Finance, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Integrate business acumen, value proposition, budget/funding options, competitive landscape, and business case development to inform business area pursuits and strategies.
  • Working with the customer, will Design or offer solutions to the customers' requirements.
  • Contract Review management within the areas of focus. Will be responsible for clarifying all customer requirements, proper negotiation of terms & conditions, project scope & documentation of customer acceptance.
  • Customer Relationship Management - will be the primary point of contact with the customer regarding project updates, milestone changes and other related topics.
  • Project Management of improvements to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the order entry through shipping processes
  • Working with the team will ensure there is a clearly defined Production Schedule and will ensure it is clearly communicated to the end customer and throughout the operation.
  • Delivery of product to end customer.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based upon organizational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience
  • Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams or manage across the enterprise.
  • Proficient at working with customers, including through challenging issues.
  • Demonstrated process improvement experience.
  • Program management experience with Department of Defense and/or knowledge of Nuclear Power preferred.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working within ASME welding standards, including interpretation and application of codes and quality requirements in regulated manufacturing or defense environments.
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA (U.S. Navy) welding requirements, specifications, and documentation standards, including oversight of welding compliance on Navy programs.
  • Exposure to Section VIII / Nuclear-related programs, including program execution in highly regulated, safetycritical environments.
  • Experience managing programs involving codedriven fabrication, inspection, and compliance activities (e.g., welding procedures, qualifications, audits).
  • Background supporting programs with DoD, Navy, or nuclear customers, particularly in environments requiring strict configuration control and documentation discipline.
  • Ability to partner effectively with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure compliance with welding and nuclear standards throughout the program lifecycle.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

In this role, the working environment is typical office and manufacturing floor environment. In addition, this role may travel approximately 10%.

The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $115,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
